6. Come On Down!!
Hi!
I have an experience to share that I have to say is simply unbelievable to me to this day. All I have to say is that GOD really answered my prayers and I will always thank HIM for it.
The minute that I heard about Maxwell's Live 99 Tour, I called my mother and told her the good news (I got her hooked on Maxwell, too!) and we made plans to look on the internet and see what day the tickets went on sale. Many weeks went by, and finally, my mother and I arrived at a nearby Foley's to get the tickets at 7:00 in the morning, only to find out that the only seats available were in the VERY LAST ROW, no exceptions. My heart sank and I was very disappointed. I tried to lift my spirits by telling Mom that I was 'gonna go down to the front row, no matter what the security guard tells me!', repeatedly for days. I prayed every night, asking GOD to help me and reassuring myself that 'It could happen,' I could meet Maxwell...
The night of the concert was now in progress, and I took everything very seriously from my clothes to my toes, [adorned with little rhinestones :-) ] preparing myself for the best.
We arrived at the Aerial Theater on time and waited about an hour in our seats (the very last row, sadly, I got the last seat on top of that) for my "Puerto Rican Dream" to come and fill our ears with beautiful music. People had really gotten dressed up (like me) with their smooth, smooth, sultry black on and the majority of women showing legs; their men sharply dressed in nice slacks and such.
A female comedian can on before Maxwell and relaxed us with some hilarious jokes, while I waited on pins and needles for Maxwell to come out. The first thing I heard was the Embrya song and as if by magic, Maxwell appeared before us wearing a beautiful white outfit, in color scheme with the background scenery. Me and other fans started screaming as his voice crooned from the mystical stage. He sang about two songs from Embrya (me the whole time screaming and dancing and singing along) and had them turn on the house lights to tell us about his 'days' when he had to sit in the back and watch other singers from afar. He wanted two fans to come down from the back and sit up front with him. After I heard this, I started screaming and yelling, 'I love you, Maxwell!!', when all of a sudden this security guard, that had been standing next to me the whole time, said to me, 'He means you!' and grabbed my hand and proceeded to lead me downstairs. The whole time I was breathing hard and not believing that this was really happening to me. When I got to the stage, my heart melted as I saw Maxwell smiling at me, his hand held out, waiting to greet me. He asked my name and I responded with a shy, cracked voice, 'Candice'. He hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek, and I was truly in heaven! He dedicated Matrimony:MaybeYou to me and the remainder of the concert, I got to sit down there and listen to his beauty up close. Before he sang Fortunate, my mother came down and sat with me. It was truly a beautiful experience!
I hope you realize that what I am revealing is true, and nothing more than that. I feel like when something good happens in our lives, we should tell others; it just makes us even happier. I don't know what happened to that second person who was supposed to come down with me but I am sure glad that it was me!
Thank you for letting me share this with you.
